As Seth Godin puts it, an idea is dead if it doesn’t diffuse. He thus argues, it is just not enough to come up with the right idea, but the rather more crucial part is to find people who want to listen to your ideas.
He calls those people “otaku”, a japanese equivalent for a nerd/obsessive person.
An entrepreneur/filmmaker/marketer or even a blogger has to identify those early bird otakus, surprise them, thrill them, keep them talking about him/his product.
As an aspiring “above all”, I’d love to give a shot at exactly that. But firstly, I need an audience. For that I need a compelling story about myself that the audience will want to listen. I can no longer be an ordinary cow and expect to be noticed.
The call is to be a purple cow.
And through this blog, that’s precisely what I’ll try to be. I’ll try to share some of my finest, fresh, intelligent, insightful, and even often ridiculous ideas with the world. It’s about offering something. Something of Value.
